Six food in Nepal for healthy weight management

Hello there pretty people!

So.. I was looking at my old pictures today and came across a picture where I was well to put it lightly "chubby". Then nostalgia hit me and I realized how sad and unfulfilled I felt. I was dark skinned(still am but I love my color!), fat and well, poor(which I still am). I was often compared to buffalo. It took a big toll on me. I even went through depression due to it.

Now when I look at it nothing of those 3 i.e. being dark, not having a lot of money and not being a zero figure like an Indian Item dancer, were bad. I now feel comfortable in my own skin color. It was the bad culture and society which made me feel bad about my skin!

Well for my body, I decided to go healthy!

Here are some food easily available in our country which can keep you healthy!

1. Oats!

Instead of those sugary chocos and cornflakes try having oats! I used to eat a lot of oats. I didn't like it with milk though. I ate the oats dry and gulped it down with water(weird lol). At times I would eat oats instead of rice with all the vegetables and pickles!

2. Boiled potatoes

This might be hard to believe. I was told from childhood that potatoes make you fat and it is very sugary etc. But that is really not the fact. Instead of snacks(khaja) I ate 4 average sized boiled potatoes with green chilli pickle (hariyo khursani ko achar)! It removed all cravings and kept me full too. And did you know chilies actually help you in weight loss?

3. Chilies

To all my pani puri and chatpate lovers out there, chilies actually aids in weight loss! Chilies help you control your appetite and also increase your metabolism! Many commercial weight loss supplements contains capsaicin which is derived from chilies. A research done by University of Oklahoma, people who ate capsaicin and worked out had 12 times higher metabolism than those who did not!

4. Black pepper:

I don't know about you, but I love black tea with black pepper (marich)! And did you know black pepper actually helps you in weight loss?? Well now you know! I find black pepper soo soothing to my guts and it had helped me in weight loss as well. Black pepper contains piperine, which also is found in commercial weight loss pills! So guys, replace your milk tea with that marich(black pepper) wala black tea!

5. Nuts

I am the kind of person who needs to keep eating. I usually ate potato chips and obviously it never aided me into keeping healthy! Then I decided to switch chips with nuts, almonds specifically (since I am allergic to peanuts and other nuts are more expensive!). Soybeans can be another option! They are rich in protein which helps to satiate you and put cravings are bay.

6. Green tea:

Okay, I understand this is not exactly "food". But, believe me green tea does godly things! You can either drink the green tea on their own or drink the flavored green teas (Rakura has wide range of such green teas). My favorite is peppermint tea from Rakura. Peppermint tea just makes me feel like all my internal organs are give a refreshing Mojito on a hot summer day! Keep in mind to drink it without sugar! Sugar can be enemy sometimes.

Remember this thing though your body is just a vessal. Be healthy and happy. You are worth of every affection the world has to offer! Be healthy for yourself and not for others! Lot of power and love to you.
